It was supposed to rain off and on that day, so we decided to have our day of adventure closer to home just in case. We wandered around the state park toward the Alabama Iron and Steel Museum. It only cost $5 for all of us to go in, and they gave the kids a sheet of paper with pictures of things to look for in the museum.
After walking around the museum looking at all the cool info about the production of steel in the area, the kids took their checked off sheets and got paper bookmarks for completing it.
They played on the playground for a little while before heading home.
During rest time, Michael decided to take a hike on one of the more difficult trails by himself. He was inspired and invigorated while experiencing nature.
After Michael got back from his hike, he started the grill up while the kids rode bikes.
We love family dinners together! However, this night we had some uninvited guests that drove Jason back into the RV to finish his meal. The flies were going crazy over our food.
After dinner we walked down to the creek where there was a bubbling spring. The water was cold, but the kids still enjoyed wading in it. We couldn’t get any good pictures of the other kids because they wouldn’t stand still long enough!
If you haven’t read the Journal entries before this one, check them out!
